My favorite season? AWARDS!
Sunday night marked Music's Biggest Night - the 2021 GRAMMY Awards, live from Los Angeles. Although notably different, the award show still allowed some of the biggest stars of the music industry to walk the red carpet, give full-set performances & enjoy a socially-distanced ceremony.
As host Trevor Noah opened the show, the first thing I noticed was the wedding-style set up. Trevor even quipped that the broadcast needed to be timely "because tomorrow this tent is reserved for an outdoor wedding in Malibu and I do not want to lose my security deposit." The golden gramophones were given next door to the Staples Center in an elegant open-air clear-span tent, adorned with bistro lights and hanging greenery. White drapery swags opened for the entrance, a bar with cocktail tables & small bistro style tables for the guests, King Louis chairs, lush floral arrangements - sounds like an amazing wedding to me!

Needless to say, the night inspired me. After seeing all of the amazing musical performances & some red carpet 'wow' moments (there were definitely a few misses - Doja Cat, we see you!), I started dreaming of design concepts that paid homage to my three favorite looks of the night!
Take a look at what I designed below!

Taylor Swift's ethereal dress from the Oscar de la Renta spring collection definitely made my top three! I loved the floral pattern play with the blush suede Christian Louboutin heels. Each element of her ensemble easily inspired the tabletop look.
Nüage Designs Blossom Sara watercolor linen takes centerstage, eliminating the need for a floral centerpiece. Instead, I keep it simple with modern gold candlesticks at differing heights & a bit of light seeded eucalyptus. Choosing a ghost chair for seating leaves the linen as the star.
The colors of the florals in the dress are seen throughout the stationery details, like the menu & place card. I loved the pop of yellow on the sunflowers in Taylor's look, so I added a Casa de Perrin Amber vintage goblet to give that added color. Details like the low metallic votive candles, Casa de Perrin's Moon modern gold flatware & Bella white glassware with gold rim mimic her opal & gold jewels. Their Halo Glass & Gold Charger add a shimmer to the table as well. I love texture on a table top, so the luxurious blush velvet ribbon from Tono and Co. tied onto a Nüage Designs ivory hemstitch napkin achieve that textural element perfectly.
This set could definitely work for a spring wedding, but I also could see it working for a gorgeous wedding or baby shower!

This showstopper from Dolce & Gabbana landed Megan Thee Stallion on many best-dressed lists, including mine! I loved the boldness of the color, paired perfectly with the peach tone on her nails. And the diamonds don't hurt either!
Embracing that bold color, I went with a velvet spiced orange linen from A Classic Rentals, paired with the regal Bella ghost chair. Silver details, ala Megan's diamond accessories, are seen in the Gemma crystal flatware & Chloe platinum rimmed glassware from Casa de Perrin. I loved adding more color & texture with an eccentric centerpiece & romantic silver candlesticks with tall tapers. The luxurious place setting includes a double stacked glass & platinum rimmed charger from Casa de Perrin and a peach satin napkin from BBJ Linen between.
I loved the shine that Megan had on Grammy night, so I added a mirror detail on the place card which attaches to the light peach round menu. And finally, the look is complete with a stunning orchid bloom placed atop the setting.
This look is perfect for an elegant autumn wedding!

Dua Lipa had some of the most show-stopping looks of the night! My favorite was her red carpet gown from the Atelier Versace collection. This shimmering dress is a dream with an ethereal butterfly detail across the bodice & back. The chic & fresh colors in the dress were absolutely stunning!
Immediately, I knew that Nüage's Silver Mini Koi sequin linen was the perfect inspired piece for this tablescape. It has the texture, the glam, and even the netted look of Dua's dress. For guest seating, I chose Found Rental's Arlo Blush chair. It's criss-cross arms complement the strappy feel of the gown & even remind me of butterfly wings.
The place setting starts with Casa de Perrin's Maison Collection Charger in silver, and the next layer adds the dusty purple tone with La Tavola's Lilac Velvet Napkin. The stationery is where I would play up the whimsical quality of Dua Lipa's look. The booklet-style menu with the cover in light blue linen paper sits under a 3D laser cut & gold foil butterfly place card - a real 'wow' piece!
I wanted to mix metallics for this table because I think Dua's look has hints of both throughout. Adding in hints of both gold & silver votive candles gives the table a more modern feel. Colorful & metallic details can be found the Casa de Perrin Chloe Agave glassware and Gold & Pink flatware. I would add in texture through florals within the color palette - whites, creams, dusty blues, pinks & light purples. I'd finish the centerpieces with a few colored tapers in gold & silver candlestick holders.
This table look would be perfect for a birthday party, bridal shower or even the head table for a spring wedding!
Which design is your favorite?! I can't choose - I love each of them for different reasons - just like real weddings. It's too hard to pick!
Looking forward to doing more of these design dream boards in the future - inspiration is truly everywhere, you just have to look for it!
