Sláinte: My Signature Cocktail

It's Friday, which means I've been planning on my weekend cocktail of choice since Tuesday! With the sun finally shining past 4PM in Saint Louis (seasonal affective disorder be gone!), it's time I busted out my favorite cocktail - the incomparable Moscow Mule.

And before we go any further - you need a set of copper mugs for your bar cart. 'Tis essential. If you already have a set - wonderful! You've either perused le Targét in the Hearth & Hand (Chip & Joanna, gang gang!) section or you've 'accidentally' taken one from a local bar/restaurant/hipster distillery. When you order a drink at some bars (remember those days?) they even take an item for collateral to make sure you bring the copper mug back. Hot commod!

Once you've got the mug situation on lock, gather yourself some grade-A ginger beer. I've already done you the solid of trying literally all of the popular ones the market and hands down the best is Fever Tree Ginger Beer. It's minimally sweet, maximally spicy! The perfect combination.

The secret to an amazing mule? Crushed ice! You heard it here first. If you're real fancy, you may have an ice crusher on your fridge door. If not, get a Ziplock bag & a mallet and get to crushin'!

Finally, grab a few limes, a bottle of Tito's & the 1996 debut album by the female powerhouses known as the Spice Girls pulled up on Spotify (required listening!!). It's called creating an ambiance.
